Sector-Leading Emissions Intensity

We strive to be a leader in the Canadian mining industry for the electrification of mine operations. Our significant investment to connect the Brucejack Mine with the provincial hydro-electric grid during initial construction, provides clean and renewable energy for many aspects of the mine.

We are proud of the low GHG intensity per ounce of gold produced at the Brucejack Mine, as it is substantially lower than our peers. Based on an emissions analysis completed across the industry in 20191, gold produced by Pretivm in 2020 had a GHG intensity of 0.097 tonnes CO2e per ounce of gold—less than 20% the average for other mid-tier and major gold producers in North America. With our investment in electrification of the underground haul truck fleet at Brucejack, we hope to continue or improve upon this position against our peers. With a growing global focus on climate impacts through the supply chain, we recognize our industry-leading low carbon footprint to be a strong differentiator for Pretivm.
